ejection port pusher and locking block - who?

A large number of newer pistols have the back of the barrel lock into the ejection port and push on the breech face. The barrel also cams down a ramp, usually against a removable locking block.

This layout was popularized by Glock, but who originated it? I'm sure I'd seen something like that before, I just can't remember who it was. Something not highly successful, more than likely...

SIG was doing it well before Glock. I couldn't tell you who originated it, though.

There's a Webley-Scott Automatic that looks like it is circa 1905.

Blocks

It's nothing more than a single massive upper barrel lug instead of three small radial lugs, with a Colt-Browning tilting barrel arrangement. The linkless camming surface actuated by a separate cross member through the frame dates back to the Browning High Power.

Ah! I have an exploded view of the Webley & Scott around here somewhere.

Do you remember any specific model of Sig that might have been the first of their product line to work like that?
