Dry firing P-3AT on last round bad for firing pin?

Well, I think my title asks it all. Since the P-3AT doesn't lock back like the P-32 did, if you keep firing does this hurt the firing pin? In the old P-32 days you could break the pin really easy.

I just kind of upgraded to the 3AT from the 32, but I might just go get my 32 out of consignment if this is a bad thing.

Thanks all,

It can happen from time to time if you don't count your rounds. I've done it a few times. Dryfiring is not good for them but that's likely an excessive amount not just every once & awhile. Very few reports of broken firing pins and mostly from those who dry fire a lot without snap caps.

I really think the worst thing about dry firing is "guns are always loaded" and always need to be treated as such.

Thanks Alamo...

I was thinking along those lines. In breaking it in yesterday I lost count 2 times and accidentally dry-fired it at the end of a clip. Otherwise I never dry-fire a gun of any type. Thus, dry-fires only happen when I intend to hit my target, I just am out of ammo.
