looking for advice on this rifle. I saw one in an army-navy store near me and don't know anything about this brand. not sure which model it is. it has a 16" barrel with short flash hider. collapsable stock. carry handle with 2 peep sights that are windage adjustable. receiver is marked 5.56/.223
I really liked the looks and have wanted to get an AR for a while now. priced at $725
what say you?

confused as to which model

the one I saw looks like several different models shown at that web site. whats the difference between the A2, AP4 and the Lite 16 models?

as said, not a bad price. New or used? I am assuming used.

lite 16 has a thinner barrel and maybe a few other liter parts and it has a fixed carry handle (A1), you can not remove the handle to put optics on it.

APR looks like a M4 clone. Heavy barrel with nade launcher cut outs. removable carry handle (A3) flat top for optics.

The A2 has a rifle length gas system and it has a fixed carry handle (A2), you can not remove the handle to put optics on it.

If i were selecting or building one after owning one, this would be my choice:
A3 flat top (no carry handle, add red dot and BUIS)
flat top gas block (no need if you go with optics with BUIS)
16" light barrel contour
1:7 twist (shoot heavier bullets)
midlength gas system (recoil easier on the gun), this is not as common. Carbine length is fine.

This would cost more. You can alway get a M4 clone and upgrade as you go.

Sounds like you looked at a panther carbine a2. I had this exact gun for a couple years but sold it two weeks ago. AR's just don't do it for me despite being fun guns. I never had an ounce of trouble with mine but I didn't ask a lot of it either. I have a dolled up sportical I'm going to sell also. Make sure the iron sights are what you want because they are fixed on the a2 carbine. Good price on the one you found. I sold mine used for more than that.
