Get this.

I went to a local gunshop in seek of the use of an FFL for a legal transfer of a firearm from out of state.
Well, I was supprised to hear that I had to pay a STATE SALES TAX here in kalifornia, for a weapon purchased from another state. Is that legal!
And if so when did this happen??
I was really bumd out. Is there someone on this forum that may be able clarify when, were, and why this went into effect.
Or is this gun shop really, really crooked!!!

Advice? Comments??

JM: kali has always done that. you have to pay state tax for ANYTHING you buy. If you buy online, most sites are set up to automatically add sales tax for kali and I think NY also. It's one of those things: You can live here but we want all your money, and we'll get it, one way or the other!

Yep, we even pay sales tax on a transfer fee (like me giving a gun to you for free). Kali gotta have it's money so it can keep the lights on in the State Assembly & Senate Chambers. You see, they're working into the midnight writing more anti-gun legislation.
