Difference between the Ar-180 and regular AR-15

The new 180s are better, in my opinion, than the originals.
The 180 uses a gas piston op system, much cleaner inside than the AR15. New guns also use AR mags & a couple other parts. Lightweight, good shooter.

Good side was it is a lot lighter than even an AR

Bad side was it looked, well flimsy / cheap-o / almost too light to be a gun --- did't get to shoot it though and I'd want to see that they will hold up under 1000's or rounds before I plunk down my $$

the ar180b is really not a "type of" an ar15, if that's what you meant, though they do have some interchangeable parts and both take stanag mags. But in a nutshell:

1. AR15 receiver, aluminum...AR180B receiver, plastic.

2. Different design/functioning: AR15 / M16, direct impingement of gases onto the bolt carrier....AR180B, a derivative of the AR-18, uses a short-stroke gas piston action.

The AR-180B is allowed to be legally owned in Canada as a non-restricted firearm (you can hunt with it- well anything that can be killed with .223) and the AR type rifles are restricted (can only use them at a registered gun range, no hunting and need special permits)

Actually I intend to buy 180B some day soon when i get money (year maybe more)
