Determining Parallax on a Leupold Scope

How would I determine the parallax setting on a Leupold Compact 2.5x scope that I acquired in a recent trade. I know that Leupold has made them to be parallax free at shorter distances for shotguns but also made them for longer ranges as well. Is there an easy way to determine where the setting is on this scope?

I checked Leupold's website and it states that the M8 2.5 x 20mm Compact is manufactured with the parallax set for 100 yards. General hunting scopes are 150, pistol scopes are 100, rimfire is 60 and shotguns 40. Unless it is marked "RF" I would assume that is is a standard M8 2.5x20 which would mean 100 yards.

A way to check would be to set a target at 100 and at 60. Sight on each and compare the image clarity and with the rifle on a rest, move your eye around a little and see of the aimimg point moves around on the target. If the target is at the range to whih the parallax is set, the aiming point should be independent of the position of your eye behind the scope.
