Dating & Valuing a Winchester 62A

A long time friend of the family has an Old Winchester pump that I would love to own and she has no idea what its worth or how old it is, good shape, not re-finnished, mabe %75 condition? it is a take down and it's marked for 22 s, l, and lr . any Idea on what I should tell her it's worth and offer to pay for it? I could look in a blue book, but they never seem to be accurate, what is the REAL value?

Also, does anyone have a book (or know of a webite) that would tell me what year it was made? it's #: 1272xx

Go to gunbroker.com. On the home page type in Winchester Model 62.

Wow those asking prices are pretty high! any Idea on what year the one I am looking at was made?

Look at completed auctions for the 62A and you'll see most 98%'ers bring 550-800. A 75% rifle unless a very rare version of the 62a well bring 300-400.

If your serial number is correct, it was made in 1941.
