Dan Wesson, Palmer experts needed

I saw a nice 6" stainless Dan Wesson, made in Palmer, at a local shop.

I have a Monson 715. The barrel nut slots are obvious on the front of the barrel - you insert the DW tool in the front of the barrel, put the tool into the slots, unscrew the barrel nut, and take the barrel out of the shroud and off the frame.

On the Palmer gun, there were no slots on the front of the barrel assembly. I could not see a barrel nut.

No one at the shop could tell me how to take the barrel assembly off, nor did they have a tool. I could see no gap between the barrel and shroud, so i don't think the barrel nut is missing.

How do you change barrels on Palmer guns?

If you have the same Dan Wesson, but in a different barrel length than mine, the barrel is fixed and is not removable. I have a 3 inch stainless (used to have 2, but the daughter in law inherited mine). These are great shooting guns.

Ralph beat me to it but I've seen Palmer guns with fixed barrels. All 4 of mine are Monson guns...
