Déjà vu

I was thinking today maybe someone out here tried one of those tools that were available a few years back. You know. The kit that came with a few punches where you could hollow point a Rd.Ball or put different markings on to help increase its terminal tissue damage. What an idea that was. Anyone buy one of those kits? Did it actually work? Hmm? Could this have been done by our forefathers and I miss reading or hearing about about it? Any comments are always welcomed.

You're probably referring to the TC Maxi Shok kit that contained different tips to engrave projectiles for expansion.
I never used them but there have been debates about their potential effectiveness.
I feel that hollow pointing could work depending on the velocity of the projectile.
Similar types of engravings certainly work for .22 bullets.
If there's a reason for wanting faster expansion then it's probably worth a try. It may not be effective in every situation but for some situations it just might work.
