Hi, I just picked up my military cz75b yesterday. What's up with the plastic guide rod? They look pretty cheap. Has anybody had problems with these rods? Are there steel replacements? Thanks

As Stephen mentioned, you can probably call CZ USA to get a replacement but I don't think you'll need it. The rod is not under any stress and only serves to keep the recoil spring aligned properly. I've shot my CZ-75B a -lot- in the past year and have had no problems of any kind. I like the old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". :)

I wouldn`t give it a thought. As Joe said it`s under very little stress and should last forever. Glocks,Keltecs etc. use plastic guide rods that are under much more and they last just about forever too. My Keltec has near 5000rds. through it and the plastic guide rod looks like new yet. Marcus
