CZ 97b recoil

Probably more of a generalized recoil question, but I found my G21 to have less recoil than the much heavier CZ I now have, same exact handloads.

Will the stiffer 16# recoil spring I just ordered help with this?

I have both guns. They seem to shoot and recoil about the same for me.

I have a lightened trigger in the G21 and a competition trigger in the 97.

I opened a thread on this not all too long ago and it died on the vine.

That happens every time I ramble on and on and on and say every single thing that comes to mind, I guess.

It's here and I think my conclusions MIGHT be something you can consider.
Not that my conclusions are fact or law, it's just what I came up with. Nobody else came up with anything. :p

I suspect the G21 slide is heavier and has a lower bore axis than my 97. Certainly the recoil impulse was there, but it was more of a straight back push, and the mild reloads literally dropped cases right at my feet. The CZ tosses them about 8' to the right and I have to go police them during colds.

All the CZ boards and even Wolff recommend the 16# spring.

Update, I installed the 16# recoil spring and noticed recoil is 'briefer' if that makes sense. Return to target is quicker. Chambering has more authority vs the 13#, which felt staged with the round hitting the feed ramp then finally chambering.

The same exact reloads now drop brass about 4' to the right.
