I got a great deal on a 7 1/2" stainless Redhawk in .45colt, but I don't like the long tube. I want to make the gun more packable but I don't want to go down to a 4". I have a friend who is a gunsmith and he will shorten, re-crown, and dovetail the gun for $50! I am thinking about going to a 4 3/4" or 5" and also having a spring kit installed. What do you guys think? does anyone have any pictures of custom Redhawks?

Here is my stainless 4" I made from 5.5" in .41mag. I have also done a fluff & buff on all the trigger/hammer surfaces, except for the sear surfaces, and have a silky smooth DA trigger. Single action breaks cleanly at 4.5lbs. It is very accurate. I also removed the billboard from the barrel.
