Crosman RM577X by Mendoza

The Big-5 has this on sale for $170, down from $200. Never owned and 'adult airgun',and this looks interesting. It has a full-size stock with Monte Carlo cheek-piece with fairly nice wood and grain for the money. All of the gun looks to be made of steel(no external plastic), and it has ambi-safeties(I'm southpaw). Best of all, it's the first I've seen in this price-range with a nice set of rear target aperture sights.

I did a thread search here, and all I found were a couple mentions of Mendoza as the maker for certain Crosman models. That, and a post stating that 'dieseling' was a design feature they intend for their guns!?

Whaddya think?

do not get the mendoza

I have shot both the higher end rm677 and 622, the stock is garbage.

If you own a remington or ruger, you will know how a walnut stock should be.

I would buy a Diana 34 or a Beeman r9 as a starters air-rifle. I currently own 2 diana 34s and a 48. My cousin has got a Beeman R9. I would dish out the extra $50 and buy the Diana 34.

It is alot better air-rifle. Performance and modifications are plentiful on the diana and beeman. Think of the diana and r9 as 10/22. The crosman is a cheap ass savage.
