Convert GSG to other caliber???

So I was just thinking about this today. I do not know the chamber sizes of the new GSG's, but would it be possible to convert on to run on the 4.6x30 or 5.7x28?

Any thoughts?

I would think the biggest issues, as for any rechambering of a semi-auto firearm, would be

chamber pressures
bolt timing (mass and spring rate)
mag well size
feed path (e.g., magazine, cartridge angle, feed ramps)

...and probably a lot of other issues that I'm forgetting.

Anything can be done with time and money. Lots of time and money.

5.7x28, I think would be too long to fit in the magwell...9mm has a distinct possibility of fitting, but I dont think you could fit something much larger in there...

Here is the info I am finding:

It looks like the GSG Mags have a small wall on both sides, which could possible be opened up for larger round.

You are right that the 9mm may be a possibility. Maybe I should look at something like the makarov for a shorter round.

Thank you for the help.

The GSG is a .22 lr. Converting one to any centerfire would be a huge project and I would still be doubtful of reliability and durability.

After reading the replies, this seems like a bad idea. I just wanted to through it out there.

Thank you for the responses.
