its not equal, but it will do the job with out any trouble. i shoot a .375 jdj TC g2 rifle and use a 220 gr hornady bullet at 2300 fps with a healhy load of H-4895 with no signs of pressure yet and is sub-moa for three shot groups. the 375 jdj is a dream to load, size the .444 marlin case in the full lenth size jdj die and load, no fire forming needed.

its not a plinker with hunting loads, but can be loaded down to mild cast bullet target loads for pratice. i,m going to try the serra 225 SPBT in my g2 375 jdj rifle at 2400 fps, if it shoots it will be my large game rifle, that load will carry 1479 fps and 1093 fpe at 400 yards. i have killed deer with my jdj with the 220 fp, but its not a long range bullet.

Fired 9 rounds of .375 Win through my Contender a few decades ago. That was enough. Not fun.
I fired 15 rounds of 357 Herrett once and should have stopped at half that. I felt like I'd gone 15 rounds with the champ. A bullet 60 - 70 grains heavier, at the same velocity is a scary thought. I wonder how much muzzel blast was responsible for the beat up feeling. I've been interested in the 375 JDJ for years, but saw a Contender barrel for sale in 375 Winchester with a brake on it.

I don't have either of those myself, though I do have 14" Contender barrels in .45-70 and .30-30.

Hornady book, 7th edition shows both the .375Win and .375 JDJ shooting 200gr bullets from 14" Contender barrels.

The .375JDJ maxed out about 150fps faster than the .375 Winchester.
And used 6gr more RL-7 to do it, which is close to 20% more powder.

IF you're looking for which one pushes the bullet the hardest, by the Hornady book I have, the JDJ wins.

I have #3 Ruger in 375Win, I’m shooting 235gr Speer Semi Spitzers. Bro is shooting TC 375 Win. He has shot 4 deer with it using 200gr Sierra HPs. Not to bad with that load. Different story when he touched off one of my loads. I’ve shot several cartridges in TCs that weren’t pleasant. 45/70 & 444 among some of JDs creations are among them.
