Good for them!!.My ROTC days(70-73?) I went on some FTX's with the 19th.
They were among the early teams into Afghanistan. They have been pretty busy for a long time.Not just weekends!

Kraig the NCNG fielded a tank crew that one the Sullivan cup this past year. In addition, NG members often fare quit well at service class competitions. Our citizen soldiers can do quite well against active brethren.

Guardsmen recently won the best ranger competition as well. We're not exactly the second rate soldiers many (mostly active duty) claim us to be.

Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way indicating the NG is any way inferior to the Regular Army.

Many are prior service, I myself spent 19 years in the Alaska National Guard after I got out of the RA and started one of the first NG Sniper Programs in the 1970s.

Was heavenly involved in the States Marksmanship Program throughout my career.

The NG dominated completion in the 80s until they changed their program in the early 90s. I'm just glad to see them coming back.
