Compact ACOG vs. ACOG

While the prices take a bit of my breath away, I am leaning towards buying one of these two for an AR. I want the AR to be well capable of long shots, as well as CQB. It is a flat top. I'm also considering an aftermarket rear sight for use on the flat top.

If I've narrowed my search down to these two, how best to decide?

Optics are impressively expensive ...

One great advantage of the Compact ACOGs is that they come in "special" ring versions, as opposed to the regular versions that are designed to clamp into an AR carry handle.

When you mount one of the regular-based ACOGs onto a flat-top, they are a bit high.

I have the ACOG 4x32 and it is very nice. Sits on top of my Bushy Shorty and I don't feel like it is too high. In fact I don't think that it would be comfortable on a flattop. Just my opinion.

I have a 2x20 Compact ACOG with the built-in AR carry handle mount. This works great on my carry handle upper as well as my flattop upper with the quick-release TA60 flattop adapter. I have used the 4x32 ACOG and prefer the lower magnification on my compact. It also "feels" faster.
