Colt Trooper Manufacture Date? +p Safe?

Just picked up a Colt Trooper .38 today. Gun has a 4" barrel and the swwetest single action trigger pull I have ever felt. Now I am curious if anyone can tell me when this gun was built. Its serial number is 46254.

If you run a steady diet of +P's in one from the 60's I would have it checked on a regular basis. JMO.
