Collapsible Stock?

Has anyone ever had any experience or heard of any wherein the telescopic stock somehow slips forward from mid-position to its shortest setting while being fired?

If the detent pin, or detent holes in the tube, are worn and/or the latch spring is weak, I can see it happening.

It was either not properly latched... Or the retaining mechanism is worn or broken.

You can examine it and take pics and post them if you want more assistance.

I hunt with mine often and never had it happen. I am guessing it is at least 40 years old. It is great when you have a heavy coat and a pack strap bulking up your shoulder.

I've seen it happen on cheap wire stocks on 80's era SMGs. I've read of it happening with their modern equivalent of the AR15 PDW stocks that use a similar mechanism. Overall, pretty rare though - and usually when it happened it was user error (stock not latched) rather than mechanical failure.

I had one that had a plunger depth that was adjustable... Apparently needed adjusted because it did the same thing. I adjusted it and it worked just fine
