He brought in a pistol this morning and asked if I wanted to buy it. My Blue Book is at home and I'm not sure if the $350 he is asking is a fair price.

It's an all steel Colt Officer's Model, Series 80 in .45 acp. It has the matte blue finish, the kind that almost looks like Parkerizing. Other than some slight holster wear, the condition is like new.

It comes with the original mag and two new stainless mags still in their plastic bags.

The deal also includes two holsters. One is a Don Hume belt style, and the other is a De Santies sholder rig.

I'm going to the range late this afternoon, so I'll get a chance to try before I buy.

What do you think?

Joe

If it's in good condition, that's a fair price. Maybe even a great price. The last used Officers Model I looked at, the guy wanted considerably more for!

Just got home from the range. Pistol shot fine. No jams, slide held back just when it should. Slide to frame fit is a little sloppy. Accuracy was 5" @ 25 yards. I'll have to figure out what to do about that...

Bought it for $300.
