Cleaning question

Cleaning the hard carbon deposits inside the bolt carrier of my AR rifles is a pain in the nether regions.
Anyone have solvent that will soften and or remove those deposits?
Some propellants are worse than others, but they all leave their hard deposits.

Brake Cleaner works well for me on other guns.

When it get real bad I disassemble
and soak it in carburetor cleaner
( NAPA auto parts 1 qt and 1 gal cans )
rinse off with water and blow dry

( some extractors have an O ring and
carburetor cleaner will destroy the O ring )

My ultrasonic cleaner uses hot water and soap. And so far it has taken care of everything we put in it.

I use Carb-Out (by the same maker of Wipe-Out, Sharp Shoot R) to remove stubborn carbon- including carbon "ring" in the throat.

I use M-Pro 7, It works for me.

Although some powders seam to burn cleaner than others. That would be for you handloaders.

Also some powders need to burn under more pressure. But don't go outside of safety range.

Soak the bolt in regular solvent for an hour or so. Then scrub with a brass brush.
As daft as it sounds, E-Z Off works like hot dam. Carbon removal being its purpose. Keep it away from synthetic stock parts though. And do not use in on a painted surface you care about.
Carb or brake cleaner will be less, um, dramatic. They're made to remove carbon too. Mind you, they probably lift paint as well.
