Clampett Family

While trying to see a bird on our fence without my glasses the image of Granny Clampett in front of the Beverly Hills mansion shooting a fly out of the air with her long rifle popped into my mind. This got me wondering what kind of firearm the Clampetts had. For some reason I don't remember the action or lock device.

Anyone have a clue?

Nah. She was using a rifle on the fly. Same one Jed has there? Can't make it out, either. Did he always carry the same rifle?

If I recall correctly they were using a mirror and shooting backwards over their shoulder.

I seem to recall Jed having a flintlock and Jethro had either a Win 94 or a 73. I don't remember Jed muzzle loading anything, and he did make a reference (to Pearl?) about their cartridges.


And they had to hit the fly on the wing, otherwise it wouldn't be sportin'.
