Changing acronyms

A proposal.

People frequently post about having "FTF" problems. Lots of times someone has to get back to the poster with the usual "Fail to Fire", or "Fail to Feed" request for clarification.

I propose we now adopt the following acronyms:

FTFe - Fail to extract.
FTFi - Fail to fire.

I know. I've got too much time on my hands.:)

Have a good weekend.

All the Best,

It's aways good form to spell it out the first time, then you can abbreviate to your heart's content. "Failure to Fire" has no specific meaning, does it? I mean, and FTF or FTE or FTRTB could CAUSE a failure to fire.

I think you have a typo in there, because FTFe doesn't sound like a good acronym for an extraction problem.

Which points out that we also often see FTE, and that doesn't tell us if the problem is a failute to extract, or a failure to eject.

So, perhaps we might consider:

FTFe = Failure to Feed
FTFi = Failure to Fire
FTEx = Failure to Extract
FTEj = Failure to Eject

Or, maybe we should stop being so addicted to acronyms, and just start writing what we mean in real words. (NAH! That's never work!)

Ok, FTRTB got me... Failure to Rock the Boat? (don't rock the boat baby!)
