Carrying gun on vacation

I'll be traveling to Tenn. on vacation and would like to do some shooting there. Thinking about taking the Savage .17 HMR and an AR-15. Are there any laws I should be concerned about transporting long guns in case from Va. to Tenn. in the trunk of my car?

Rule of thumb: Unloaded with the ammo stored in a separate container, while the guns are in the trunk.

Yes, and I think as long as long-gun licensing/registration isnt required at your destination you'll be fine.....
