Carry rig for jogging

Hello all:

I have a S&W 642 that I wish to start jogging with. I am also thinking about getting the Kahr P9M when my local shop gets on in. With these two in mind, what would be the forum's recommendations for carry while jogging. I was thinking of going with a belly band, but I wasn't sure if it would hold the weapon tight to my body.

I'd try a small fanny pack. It will also carry a Walkman, etc. and that much less unobtrusive.

Hey bud,

My current method is to use Thunderwear but only with a very light gun. That would be my Kel-Tec P32, which is admittedly a mousegun but better than no gun at all.

My theory is that I can't find a way to carry a heavy gun (fanny pack or Thunderwear) while jogging because it bounces too much. Maybe I don't have the right fanny pack (maybe one of the premium ones work better?) but that's what I found so far.

Thus, I use a mousegun in a holster that's not really that accessible, but I keep other options clipped to the outside of my pockets. My gym gear includes my Spyderco Endura clipped to my right side pocket and a Surefire E1 clipped to the left.

It's not the perfect solution -- I'm hoping I can solve close-in problems with the Endura and hopefully move to cover before having to go to the P32. But I'm with you ... I'm waiting for the PM9 to come out to possibly replace my S&W M342 AirLite.

Hey JT:

I agree, what else is there to do. You either run with the Airlight and bounce all over or run with the KelTec and hope you have enough gun to do the job. I had thought about Thunder wear also, but felt it was not easily accessible.

Has anyone out there ever tried any of the belly bands? I really want to carry at least the 38. Especially since I will be pushing the little guy in the jogging stroller now.

I will have to look at some of the better made fanny puches, also.

Thanks,

Coley
