Can California really legally copyright its laws?

Ten years ago I would have thought something like this would have been posted on The Onion. But nowadays I really don't know. Can California really copyright its laws? Somebody tell me this is a joke. :(

Given the ridiculous laws Kalifornica passes who cares if the copyright them. Probably a very good thing if they do, other states can't get as ridiculous and do things like banning lead ammo to save the condors, require micro stamping of ammo, etc., etc,. etc.

Sounds great to me. If their AWB laws are copyrighted, then no other state or the feds can write an AWB without violating their copyright. :)

LA police copyrighted their uniforms.
