Please take just a few seconds out of your day to sign the petition to pass LB289 and help end the patchwork of gun laws in Nebraska. Currently, an individual city or town can establish laws which are more restrictive than those of the state. This causes a burden for law abiding citizens when traveling across the state. To be legal, you would have to research each city or town’s laws to make sure you are in compliance. One blaring example is traveling through or in the vicinity of Omaha. You can pass through several suburbs or in/out of Omaha without even knowing it. At any given moment, you may be in violation of a local ordinance. This is not just a big city issue. The same thing can happen as you travel down a highway that passes through several towns.
