do the bells and whistles on the DCM competition rifle justify the 450 price increase or would I be better off just getting basic model.

This will be a hobby gun with meduim chance of getting into organized .223 competition next summer.

why shouldI get/not get the 2 above rifles? thanks. SDnR

If you plan on getting into DCM shooting the DCM gun is the better choice.
1) better sights, around $100 to upgrade the E2S
2)trigger job with warranty, around $100
3) free floating handguard. When you sling up on the E2S you sling up tight which is needed for accuracy the sling is actually pulling your front sight out of alignment with the rear. With the free floating package the sling isn't attached to youe barrel and you will not change sight alignment. around $150
4) chrome lined barrel of E2S is great for combat but it effects the accuracy. Non chrome lined barrels are generally more accurate. I've seen some chrome lined barrel that shot great groups but not that many. around $300 for a new barrel match barrel and installation.

The E2S is OK if you are not going to shoot competition but if you are really thinking of shooting matches spend the extra cash and buy the DCM.

Good luck and have fun in whichever rifle you choose.
