Bullet Penetration Test !!

Gentlemen,

We have added a new monthly feature at our 7mm Remington Magnum website www.slatesafaris.com/7mm.htm This month's article is about preparing for our upcoming bullet penetration test.

If you visit our website, and scroll down to the article, you can find the bullets we will be testing. In addition to the 7mm testing, I will also be doing some comparison testing with the following rounds...

1.) .45-70, 350 gr. and 405 gr. bullets
2.) .44 Mag, 240 gr. cast and jacketed bullets.
3.) .30-06 180 gr. Factory ammunition (I don't have any dies for it yet.)
4.) .303 British, 150, 180, and 225 gr. loads.

The methods and materials used are all posted in the article. If any of you have any additional ideas or questions, feel free to email us or post them here. I really look forward to this experiment, and I hope the data is of some use to all of us...

Why would you need dies for testing .30-06 factory ammunition?

The reason I made that comment is because I don't have dies to handload for the .30-06, so I will have to test factory ammunition. I hope that clears it up...

Hey, if we have a load we'd like to see tested...

can we send you some ammo? or are you funding this for knowledge's sake?
I know if I wanted Aguila 22 Subsonic tested, at 3 cents/round no big deal.
But what if i wanted a Barnes Solid at 5 ro more doolars a shot?
Cuz if you ARE taking suggestions i have some I'd like to see.
(not the 22 SS!)
