bull pup 870 build

I posted this on another forum but thought I would also come over here for some insight.
I was wondering if anyone has modded the mossberg 500 bull pup stock to fit the 870. My worry is not getting the stock to fit. I can do a lot cutting and fiberglassing to do that. I was just wanting some ideas on how to make the trigger function better. Any insight would be great. I'm just doing it as a fun project and if it doesn't work out then o well, i'll just put the 870 back to the way it is.
Thanks

bullpup stock ?

what in the world does that thing look like? a bullpup shotgun? do you have a link or pics. so i can take a look. i have seen the british using something like that. but its a rifle. the mag goes in uder your chin . not in front of your face like an AK or an AR.

While you're working on the mechanics of making it work, can you please do something about the looks, too?? This one is ugly as sin...

Federal law states as long as the barrel length stays over 18" and the overall length stays above 26" you should be all set.

Check with your local jurisdictions, though... some have imposed more restrictions than the feds....

You're fine in Texas, though...

it's legal here in Ohio. I plan on trying to make is look a little better. The big wannabe m16 handle is going to be the first to go.

Ive got one of the bullpups, its a maverick 88 almost identical to the moss500.

List of problems: 1. the forearm slide is super loose and hangs up on the reciever if your not careful. 2. the handgrip safety only works if you put a death grip on it. 3. trigger mechanism isnt positive enough (too much slop and its cheaply put togeather. 4. its way too heavy in the butt section 5, pump function disconnect is hard to get to as its in a hole on the side of the butt of the gun.

As for making this into an 870 bullpup, wouldn't waste your time. It was fun to shoot one handed tho, I stripped mine down and put a short stock and forend on
it.

I bought my Mossberg Bullpup at Walmart so I reckon they are/were legal. I loved it! I practiced shooting it all kinda ways including hanging from a tree shooting it one handed.... But when I no longer needed the full locker of guns it was one of the first to go.

Bullpups

Awalker19, Hi, I am sorry, but I just can't remember where I saw the stock kits. I do remember looking at them at the same time that I was wanting to do a bullpup style 1100. If you really want a cool little bullpup, check out the High-Standard Model 10-B. They are hard to find, but if you see one, you probably would want one.

Muzzlelite made the bullpup stock kits for the Rem 870. They still make the kits for the Ruger 10/22. I believe a big issue with the 870 kit was that it needed a 20-22" barrel to make it 26" over all length. If they are anything like the 10/22 kits, durability may be an issue as well.

I have seen the 870 kit now. It seems to be a lot better than the mossberg model. Could you just add a 2" recoil pad on the stock to make up for the longer barrel needed?

I think that could be a possibility, if it was a permanent type of extension. Or maybe even add an end of barrel type choke/extension permanently fixed in place. Just a thought.
