Bull down

Had a great elk hunt this year. On opening day I passed on a 5x5 and then got on a nice 6x on Sunday morning but he quickly gave me the slip.

I relocated the 6x6 Monday morning and put a 6 hour stalk on him but he and all his cows. Got up for their afternoon snack before I could close on him and get a shot. However there was a decent 5x5 satellite bull hanging at the way back that I tried for, but no luck.

Tuesday morning I was back at it while out sneaking through the woods I ran into the 5x5 satellite bull who was now solo. At first I thought he was the 6x because all I saw was the last part of his antlers.

From time I saw the bull to time of shot was less than 10 seconds. Probably a good thing it happened so quick otherwise if I had taken a few more moments to look at this guy I probably would have passed on him also.

Looks good.

You'll get no complaints from me about taking, "the little one."
I hunt for the hunt, and for the meat.
Legal is legal.
