Budget friendly 250 savage

Hey folks I am going to toss out an idea about a 250 Savage that might be silly but here goes. How cost effective would it be to get a budget rifle in 22-250 and have the barrel bored out to 250 Savage? Or would it be cheaper to just rebarrel to a 250? The only thing else that might be an issue of concern that I can see is if the extra .165 coal length of the 250 will cause a magazine problem. If anyone can enlighten me on this or other snags I may face I'd like to know. Thanks Russ.

I would think the easiest why would be to buy a Savage and buy a drop in barrel .Shaw makes 250 barrels might be others. As far as feeding problems I don’t think you will have any the same detachable magazines for 22-250 work for 308 size cases

Most makers use the same length action for the 22-250 and 308, so the 250-3000 will work fine. I have built two rifles in 250 Savage for customers using short actions (Rem 700SA and Rem Model 7), and they worked fine.
