Brown Bess article

The Company of Military Historians' publication, The Military Collector and Historian, has an article on the Brown Bess in its Summer 2022 issue (Vol 74, No. 22).

The same issue has a lengthy article on archaeological dig at Guilford Courthouse. The author is Lawerence Babits, author of the book about Morgan at Cowpens, Devil of a Whipping.

The final article that may be of interest to those who study the American Revoluton is an article on John Muller and his treatise on artillery. His work was studied by Americans in developing the artillery arm of the Continental Army.

Thank you for this. I am a history nut for the Revolution. Even have a reproduction Brown Bess, 2nd Land Pattern I believe. A whopping good time at the range, seeing that massive cloud of musket smoke from both the pan and the bore.

I love the history of the Bess, the lines of it, for a musket. Have even used it as a scatter blaster for a funny round of clays.

If you have a lead to a digital version of the article, can you please post it on here. Would love to give it a once-over.

PM me your snail mail and I will pass it onto the Company Administrator and see if he'll send you a complimentary copy.
