Ran about 130 rounds of Sellier and Bellot 230 grain fmj thru her, since this is my first 1911 its pretty damned accurate at 7 yards (typical HD distance in our house). No FTE but 2 FTF, will have to look it over while Im cleaning it.

make sure its cleaned and properly lubed as this can cause a ftf since the slide is dragging.

and congrats now take it from a virgin to a used dirty slut and love every minute of it.

It was just the first round, maybe the round wasn't fully seated in the magazine?

possibly also it was tilted forward so the slide put downward pressure pushing it into the feed ramp instead of up into the chamber

Not always a guaranteed first time fix for FTF's, but try this next time- Take your finger off the trigger, use the heel of the other hand to bump the slide forward.

Sometimes newness or funk will prevent the slide from going into full battrey. Now, if you bump too hard, it will hurt your hand and more securely lodge a bad ctg. Don't do that. Bump enough not to hurt yourself and then if you find you have a bad ctg that just does not want to get along, it won't be all that hard to get out and it wont hurt you. Life's short- don't hurt yourself.
