Ive been interested in the single shot type pistols, but I want a double barrel version. Can anyone help with my options? Caliber doeant really matter as long as it isnt .22 or a full power rifle cartridge.

Bond Derringers can be had with longer barrels, I think. I remember shooting a long barreled double some years back that shot both .45 Colt and .410 Shotshells. As I recall, shooting my .45 Colt handloads at the berm downrange, about 110 yards, the barrels shot about eight feet apart.

As to side by side double handguns, I don't know of any.

Actually there are breech loading howdahs, but they are fairly rare and expensive. I'm thinking of the ones made by some of the British firms in the early twentieth century. I dimly remember an article in a Gun Digest many years ago that had pictures of what happened on both ends of one (in .500NE) when fired. Recoil and torque looked brutal, but a solid concrete block was reduced to gravel. A wealthy man's gun then and now.
