Brass with heavy verdigris

I inherited a holster with a number of pieces of 45 Colt brass still in place in the loops. The holster has been neglected for quite a few years and the verdigris is so thick you have to scrape it off before wiping it down. Is the brass safe to use or sell/trade?

As long as the brass is not pitted it is OK to use.

Wipe the verdigris off with a cloth. This is worth keeping in mind:

As verdigris consists of various poisonous copper compounds, one should always wash one's hands after handling.[4]
