I just picked up the latest edition of Cartridges Of The World. I missed out on the last several editions. This one has all short magnums in it and even the .17 rimfires. This is one of my favorite shooting reference books. Does anyone else have this book? What do you think of it?

COTW is one of my favorite reference books and I refer to it often. If you like it, check out Ammo and Ballastics III or IV. The same general type book, but less history (and less cartridges) but with actual ballastic information for various loadings per caliber per ammo maker. The two books together make up an invaluable reference library.

My copy is the revised 2nd edition. Copyright MCMLXIX (why do they do Roman Numerals so much for copyright dates(1969))?:confused:
Could I trouble one of you to look up the 454 Cartridge.
My edition lists it as .454 Magnum Revolver.

Loading Data;
230grn unique=2gr. & 2400=25gr. & Bullseye=3gr. MV=2000, ME=2050 Triplex load

250gr. unique=2gr., & 2400=25gr. & unique=2gr. again MV 1890, ME1990 triplex load

300gr. 2400= 25gr. and unique= 2gr MV=1710, ME=1955 Duplex Load

Experimental work began in 1957 by Jack Fullmer and Dick Casull.
Just wondering how the new editions explain this cartridge.

Thanks
