Anyone have any experience with this?

Looks pretty legit, I am just wondering if I would have to get this installed by a mechanic or something to properly bolt it in? If anyone knows of any other similar products feel free to post them.

I know this thing may not be full proof, but most car thieves wont stick around long enough to figure out how to get the thing out. Usually they are smash and grab jobs.

It looks like anyone who is competent to operate an electric drill would be able to install the box. The person would just have to be aware of what is on the other side of the sheet metal where he's drilling.

I put one under a seat in the car. Had too take the seat out to install the box easily. Drilled and tapped holes to mount the bracket. Did a fast check underneath to make sure I wouldn't drill into anything important. Somebody would have to be real determined to: A) locate the box from outside the car; and B) manage to pry the box out. I'm fairly happy with mine.

Theyd work great if you wanted to lock your gun in vehicle when you couldn't carry in some businesses. Just don't ever leave gun locked while driving around just in case you need to get to it real quick!

kfd82 thanks for the reply, I was thinking about mounting it under the seat also.

The main reason I am getting it is so I can safely leave my carry gun in the car while I work. Also when I go out with women I just meet I don't like to carry, I live in Massachusetts where most don't carry let alone own a gun so it's a good way to scare them off. I may just designate my SR9C as a car gun since I have no particular attachment to the gun and its not very expensive.

Have you considered a cabled box?,,,

I have one of these in my pickup,,,
The cable wraps around the seat brackets.

I like it because I can keep it under the seat,,,
But when I use it the cable allows me to place the box on the seat for easy access.

One that bolted to the vehicle would be a bit more secure maybe,,,
But lots more inconvenient to get the gun in and out of,,,
That's the type a friend has and it's a pain IMHO.

Just a thought,,,
