Blackhawk Loading Gate?

After reassembly this afternoon on my .357 Ruger New Model Blackhawk SA, the loading gate is very hard./stiff to operate. Any ideas on what might cause this? I had it apart to reinstall the original hammer spring. That's all I did.

Take out the cylinder and look down towards the bottom of the frame window where the gate rotates. If you see the latch spring sticking up out of the hole, that's your problem. The hooked end of the spring should be flush against the gate pin. It happens easily and is easy to fix. Just requires taking the whole damn thing back apart.

It was sticking out, it was popped back in easily enough just like you said have to take all apart again. I had this problem several times and didn't know what I had done to "fix" it. Just seemed to work again after taking it apart. Three hands are great for working on the Blackhawk!:)

Cool! Three hands are definitely better for working on the New Models. Old Models and Colt-style actions are much more user friendly in that regard.
