Does anyone know what bullet diameter Black Hills uses in their 44 Colt ammunition? I know the original loading had a bullet diameter of .443" and was a heal type outside lubed bullet. However I have a friend that says he has shot some new 44 colt ammo in his .429" barreled 44 magnum, and now wants to reload the cases with a .429" bullets.

As for 44 special, magnum and all others listed in what books I have bullet diamater is 429 but lead can be several thousands larger.

Hodgdon lists the 44 COLT as .430 in at the location below for lead Round Nose. Your 443 seems a little on the large side but since I have never loaded that round I really have no idea.
