Best after market finish

What's the best after market finish for an auto-loader? I've seen Robar advertised or mentioned. What else is out there, either in a do-it-yourself job, or professionally?

i hear alot about robar np3 finish and ive heard some god things about a finish called birdsongs black t i think robar does it too .
you might dio a search on gun finishes and find some answers on the tfl board

Hardchrome is one of the toughest and very good looking also.

If you like bright finishes,SS Chromium M from Metalife Ind.
is the best IMO(70-72HRC .002" thickness ,2000 hrs in saltspray
IIRC) . As to black finishes I`ve heard much good of Robar`s
ROGUARD.

Electroless Nickel

Got my rifle plated a few years ago to prevent corrosion. Its an auto, and even in the area where the bolt rams back and forth
no wear. over 3k rounds after I got it plated. NO WEAR. You
can also use windex to wipe the outside surfaces of the weapon.
Got it done by Mil-Spec Metal Finishers in Edgewater Fl, The two guys that own it Pat Bristol, or Rob Shinn say they use a higher Phosphorus content, that makes it harder and more resistant to corrosion. They do alot of govt contract stuff. I'm gonna have my pistol done next
