Beretta 92FS compact sight question.

I have a compact that had the slide hard chromed. The person that did it had handled my other guns and did good work, but I don't know what happened with this gun. He hard chromed right over the standard white dot sight. What can I do to remedy this so I can have some kind of sight?

Some of the newer models have an orange/red dot. I'd paint it with the same giving it more contrast than white.
