Beretta 92 Mags in a PT92

Hope y'all can help me with this....

I know you can modify the Beretta 92 magazines to fit & function in a Taurus PT92. But I think I read somewhere that the magazine release parts from a Beretta 92 could be installed in a PT92 so that the PT92 would be able to use Beretta 92 mags only.

Is this true?

Post 25 should have your answer as the PT92 has changed over the years and evolved away from the Beretta.

The Mec-Gar 18 round mag works extreemly well in my PT-92. Makes more sense then trying to jimmy a Beretta mag.

BTW the 18-round Mec-Gar magazines for my Beretta work flawlessly, so the ones made for the Taurus should function as well.

I have an old PT-92 mag that works just fine in in 92 FS. Don't know about the other way around.

Along these lines. Just picked up a used pt-99 and one of the mags (says taurus on it) was/is hard to slide in. It hits the mag release. It looked like it was worn and was catching so maybe it was not to spec? I fixed somewhat by smoothing out, but I am going to replace.

Should I get the mec-gear, original Taurus or Beretta?

I would like to keep original and can get from Taurus for 39.00, but that sounded kinda high.

Any place online that is great for stuff like this.
