Picked up a 2001 Ruger catalog today and it list a new cartridge called ".480 RUGER" for the SRH. What is that?

Hmmmm...got me...let's investigate...

It's a shortened 475 Linebaugh. It's a 325gr bullet (I think) at 1400fps or so. Basically, you get 1/3 more power than a 44mag (factory ammo).

The numbers aren't gospel, I'm quoting from the top of my head.
