I grabbed my copy of Hatchers Handbook, and was able to find a reference to this bullet. The stated BC was .56 - and this is what makes me wonder.
When I look at the advertised BC of (what I consider to be) a very similar bullet - Sierra's 175 gn HPBT, I see this figure: .505 above 2800 fps. Given what I've learned about bullets and BC's, the fact that a slighly lighter bullet of the same caliber having a better BC is what makes me wonder.
Of course, BC has a lot to do with shape, so that is where the differences might be found. I need to place these two together to see if there are any really noticable differences. When it's all said and done, I personally would use the Sierra BC as a starting point for my figures, and move on from there.
