barrel lengths and choke

I have a mossberg 500 and have a 28" vented rib barrel with the modified accu choke, i really like the idea of a 20" or 24" barrel as i like the shorter barrels because they balance better, question is will the 20" with modified choke shoot as well as the 24" or 28" with the same choke, fixing to buy one or the other, just wandering which i would like best if they shoot the same with the same choke

Choke and load determine pattern, barrel length does not. Longer barrels tend to have more inertia, thus help keep the barrel moving.

I used to like short barrels. Still do, but shoot best with longer ones....
