I'm leaning heavily toward the Russian gun due to the appearance of a higher standard of fit and finish. The external 'cocking' hammer ears also seem like a valuable safety tool, as well as relieving stress on the mainsprings.
Does anyone compete with shooters who have an example of each? I'd really like to know if there's any chance that the beefier forend of the Stoeger would fit the Baikal. I know, probably slim and none, but that's about the only thing I prefer on the Stoeger. So, I thought I'd toss it out there.
