ASM manufacture date, anybody figure it out yet?

I'm guessing this one just didn't stamp or something. It looks like I can make out the corner of the box, but no way there is letters in it.
Did anybody ever find out how to look up serial numbers and dates, or if that is even possible?
(this is 4 pictures from different angles and light), just in case I'm missing something.

It's not possible, the serial number is pretty meaningless on Italian repros.

This is what you're looking for. This one has AB in the box denoting 1976.

It appears that the box and the proof date code letters didn't get imprinted. A very small section of what could be the outline of the left side of the box appears to be next to the ASM logo, but the actual letter stamping didn't make it into the steel.
It's not all that uncommon for a gun to not be imprinted with the date code, especially an ASM.

Those are the private records of a company that has gone out of business. Even the Italian companies that are still in business don't provide information by serial number, at least not that's been released to the public.
One would think that the proof house would keep a serial number record of the guns that they proof test since they probably charge a fee for it and keeping records may be required by the Italian proof testing laws. But obtaining any information from those Italian proof house records is a quandary. I guess that someone could always make a request for information, and maybe they even have a standard procedure for dealing with requests.
But if all of the proof house records from the time period of your ASM's testing aren't computerized, then it could all amount to being a fruitless effort.

In all of my ASMs .....

....All of the Colt clones have the date code on the starboard side of the frame. Only the Remingtons have the date code on the bottom of the frame.

I have a coupla ASP Euroarms (All Colts) and the date code box is at the same place as it is on the ASMs.

What kinda Remington you got Doc with a date code on the bottom of the frame? The one in my pic is a Pietta Navy. All my other Remingtons have it in the same place as the Colt's, on the side of the frame.

It doesn't really matter, just curious. But there isn't a mark on the sides. My Pietta's are on the side, like in the pic Hawg posted. Not this thing. But it does have a beautiful coloring to it. It'll live again one day!!

(No, that's not cobwebs in the holes, it's fuzz from cleaning with Q-tips. This frame has never been fired.)

I have ....

...an ASM steel .44 with the date code on the floor of the frame just forward of the trigger guard.

Also have a brass frame .44 with the date code just forward of the trigger guard on the floor of the frame.

Have a brass .44 from Palmetto imported by Garrett Arms in Norfolk, VA no date code at all. The serial number with the Palmetto palm is on the cylinder only.

Have a brass .44 from Palmetto imported by Richland also with a serial number and the Palmetto palm on the cylinder but nowhere else and no date code.

Have a Pietta nickel plated .44 with the date code on the floor of the frame just forward of the trigger guard but I have a Siles imported ASP with the date code on the right side of the frame.

I have a Pietta .31 (1863) with no date code and a Pietta .44 in steel (Six inch barrel) with the date code on the side of the frame just aft of the barrel.

It might this ASM logo stamped was using by Armi San Marco during 1975-1980.
List of somes own models from this manufacturer.
SAN MARCO ---> 1973
S.MARCO ---> 1969
ARMI SAN MARCO ---> 1975
West arms by Armi San Marco ----> 1980
A.S.M ---> 1984 and 1991
ARMI SAN MARCO GARDONNE VT ---> 1980
ARMI SAN.MARCO- GARDONNE V ---> 1998

Then remember that's i could see over somes differents model of Colt 1847, 1848, 1849, 1851, 1860.
The kind of models and country market should depending the logo 's style ?
