Article complaining about CCW at airport terminals

This article is a typical bash against CCW at airports, railing against people who carry outside TSA checkpoints.

I think this is going to be the next push- expanding TSA authority beyond airport checkpoints and sterile areas. Random searches, coming soon to a city near you.

This is nothing more than the natural progression and expansion of the agenda of the "All we want" crowd.

Remember when anti-smoking groups said "All we want is a small space in restaurants for non-smokers"; and the progression and expansion of the laws which now encompass outdoor venues and, in some cases, your domicile?

Well, now the natural progression and expansion of the anti-firearms agendists is here.

"If your airport is not secure, then the security of your airplanes is jeopardized," said Rafi Ron, former security chief at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel who now works as an aviation consultant. "You cannot separate the two."

The foregoing quote from the article must have been taken out of context. I have flown out of Ben Gurion airport, and while the security is a little more sophisticated than most US airports, they certainly didn't search people entering the terminal.

But Ron, the Israeli security expert, said the last thing airport security agents need is a hail of bullets and no idea who the bad guy is.

"That leads to chaos," he said, "and that can lead to tragedy."
And that is why he is the former security chief at Ben Gurion. For an Israeli security chief to say that goes against the entire defense plan and culture of the country. Everybody is responsible for fighting bad guys there, it's the Israeli way!
