ArmiSport Kentuckian .45 cal Flintlock Info Needed

I just purchased an ArmiSport Kentuckian .45 cal. Flintlock rifle. From what I’ve read online so far, this is apparently a 1:36 twist rifle, but designed to shoot patched round balls with about 50 grains of BP.

I have shot a Thompson Center Hawken caplock for years, but this is my first flintlock.

Does anyone know where I can find a manual for this rifle? In addition, does anyone know how I can determine what sized flints I need for this rifle? It did not have one installed.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Let the fun begin !!!

I don't have a big problem with your starting main charge. But I do have a habit of physically confirming twist as I have found some slight variances.
:)

Enjoy and;
Be Safe !!!!

Thanks for the info guys. I was already thinking about that book, and you’re right - I need to check the twist rate of this barrel. 1:36 seems awfully fast for PRBs to me. The barrel measures approximately 35.5”. I’ll try to get some more accurate measurements over the weekend.

Does anyone have a manual for this rifle? I’m wondering about the maximum safe load.

Thanks! I think that’s it. Matches some of the general information I had read from other sources regarding this model.

Tidewater Kid - that's a pretty good manual.

Image #4 shows something I was taught at a NMLRA gunbuilder workshop. Remove the tang screw and any bolt that went through it. Drive out the pins and then flip the gun upside down and tap the barrel on a padded surface to separate the barrel from the stock.

That image though shows the barrel bands still on the gunstock. Oppski.
